Servings 2 fillo wrapped saganaki


  • 2 tbsp(s) Unsalted Butter Melted, Reserved Warm
  • 2 sheets Kontos® Fillo #5 Thawed
  • 2 each Kontos® Saganaki Cheese 1/4 inch slice (3.5 oz slice)
  • 0.25 cup(s) Honey
  • 2 tsp(s) Fresh Thyme Leaves Picked
  • 2 tsp(s) Toasted White Sesame Seeds


  • Pre-heat an oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Unwrap fillo dough and lay it on a clean work table; Place a lightly damp kitchen towel over the stack of fillo to prevent the sheets from drying while assembling the cheese.
  • Place a sheet of fillo with the long side facing you over a piece of parchment paper on a clean work surface.
  • Brush the sheet with an even layer of butter.
  • Center a slice of cheese 3 inches from the end closest to you, fold the fillo over and brush with butter.
  • Fold in each side of the fillo sheet and brush with butter; Fold over until you get to the other and transfer the sheet to sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Repeat step 4-6 with all slices of cheese.
  • Brush the surface of each piece with a final layer of butter and bake for 20-25 or until golden brown.
  • Transfer each slice to a serving plate and drizzle each slice with 2 Tbsp(s) of honey before finishing each slice with 1 tsp(s) of fresh thyme, and 1 tsp(s) of toasted white sesame seeds.
