Ingredients
- 1 Kontos Tavern Flatbread
- 2 links Italian Pork Sausage sweet or hot
- 1/2 cup Mozzarella
- 1 bunch Broccoli Rabe
- 5-7 cloves Garlic
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Red Pepper Flakes to taste
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
Make the Broccoli Rabe
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the broccoli rabe and cook until just wilted, about 1–2 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the peeled garlic cloves and cook for about 2 minutes, until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Drain the broccoli rabe and add it to the pan. Sauté for a few minutes, seasoning with salt to taste.
- Once tender and well combined, remove from heat and set aside.
Crumbled Sausage
- Remove the casing from the sausage.
- In the same pan as the broccoli rabe over medium heat, break up pieces of the sausage with your hands and add to the pan.
- With a wooden spoon, gently break up the sausage pieces.
- Let the sausage cook until brown with a bit of a char.
- Remove from pan and set aside.
Assemble Flatbread
- Place a Kontos Tavern Flatbread on a baking sheet and evenly sprinkle mozzarella over the surface.
- Bake in the oven until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly, about 2-5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and top with crumbled sausage, sautéed broccoli rabe, and roasted garlic.
- Finish with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and salt to taste.
- Slice and serve hot.
