Kontos Foods to Exhibit a Wide Range of Ethnic Flatbreads at NRA Show

Stop by booth #1857 to see and sample flatbreads inspired by Greek, Indian, Latin American, Mideast and Central Asian traditions; also on display will be Baklava, Hummus and Tzatziki

Paterson, New Jersey – May 11, 2015 – Kontos Foods, Inc. (www.kontos.com), a U.S.-based manufacturer and distributor of traditional Greek and Mediterranean foods, today announced that the company will be exhibiting a wide variety of ethnic flavors and products at the National Restaurant Association’s NRA Show 2015 at McCormick Place, Chicago, May 16-19, including several Flatbreads, Fillo products and dips.

Visitors to booth #1857 will be able to see and sample a range of flatbreads, with flavors and textures inspired by Greek, Indian, Latin American, Middle Eastern and Central Asian traditions. At the show, Kontos Foods will also be exhibiting Fillo dough, ready-made Baklava, Hummus and Tzatziki, with special tastings for show participants.

“Kontos Foods has over 50 varieties of flatbread that provide the basis for delicious ethnic meals – dishes that add excitement and flair to restaurant and foodservice menus,” said Steve Kontos, Vice President of Kontos Foods. “Eateries looking to differentiate themselves will love our hand-stretched Gyro bread, Pre-Grilled Panini breads, Pocket-Less® and Traditional Pita, Indian Nan and Chapati, flavored Pan Plano flatbreads, Lavash, Barbari Flatbread, gluten-free wraps, crepes and more.”

Chefs can get creative with Kontos Foods’ mix of flavored breads and wraps – including such savory flavors as spinach, pesto, roasted red pepper, jalapeño and cilantro, onion and sun-dried tomato basil. Kontos breads are made with wholesome ingredients, including white and whole wheat flour, flax, olive oil and fresh herbs.

“With a delicious, authentic ethnic bread, all chefs have to do is add fresh, wholesome proteins and salads to create popular new dishes,” said Kontos Foods Marketing Director Warren Stoll. “These varied and interesting breads help to simplify menu design. A good example is our pre-grilled Panini breads, which are ideal for food purveyors that don’t have space for a Panini press, but want to offer interesting café-style sandwiches with authentic grill marks.”

At the NRA show, booth visitors will be able to see Kontos Fillo dough of varying thicknesses, as well as Kataifi dough – finely spun strands of dough that add golden crunch to seafood and dessert dishes. Samples of Kontos Foods’ Fillo, in the form of ready-made Baklava and Nut Roll pastries, will be available.

Kontos sells its products to retailers and foodservice establishments across North America and globally. Find Kontos on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Kontosfoods and follow the company on Twitter @KontosFoods.
